Father John Bayer is a monk at Our Lady of Dallas Cistercian Abbey and a teacher at Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving. Currently, he is the Form Master for the Class of 2025 and teaches English grammar, Latin, philosophy and theology. Father Bayer is also an adjunct professor of theology at the University of Dallas, and his courses there so far have focused on fundamental theology, apologetics and the relationship between faith and science. Born in Arlington, Father Bayer entered Our Lady of Dallas Cistercian Abbey in August 2007. He made his solemn profession on August 19, 2012, and he was ordained on August 10, 2013.
