Tommy Baril is an assistant director with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO)’s Defense Capabilities and Management team. In this capacity, he oversees multiple GAO teams that assess national security matters. In May 2023, Baril was elected to the City of Allen City Council. When he is not serving the community as a council member, Baril serves as a Scout leader, volunteer for the St. Jude Catholic Parish’s high school ministry, youth sports coach, and a member of the Allen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Baril graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance, certificate in international business, and certificate in national security. He also completed the National Security Management program and received the Maxwell School Executive Education Certificate from Syracuse University.
